My recording studio is a source of pride for me. A little over two years ago, a friend of mine and I built it from scratch (in all honesty, he did more than the lion’s share of work). But it involved more than just putting up the walls and acoustic treatment.
The most important part of the process was getting certification that my sound quality was up to standard. For that, I joined World Voices and immediately requested their committee’s home studio approval. One of their many educational missions is to raise recording standards across the voice over industry.
After sending a sample, I got unanimous support to move forward recording from home. I’ve added some personality with equipment and decor, but it’s all for inspiration and a reminder to enjoy what I do.
